Coral and pearl come from the sea; turquoise and sapphire come from the earth. Around the Mediterranean, coral and pearl have been used together in jewelry for centuries. Sırlı Sepet designs this set to bring the colors of the Mediterranean together in a single strand.

Coral, pearl, turquoise and sapphire.

Coral is an organic material obtained from the calcium carbonate skeletons of marine creatures. Pearl is an organic gem material formed by mollusks from layers of nacre. Turquoise is a porous phosphate mineral containing copper. Sapphire is the blue variety of the mineral corundum and is very hard. Coral, pearl and turquoise are sensitive to water, acids and chemicals.
