Prayers and symbols
Nal-i Sharif at the center.
Nal-i Sharif and the tulip are among the most beloved motifs of reverence and affection in Ottoman art. In the round Sir-i Akik, Sırlı Sepet interprets these motifs together with the Ism-i A'zam and traditional prayers in the warmth of red agate.
Nal-i Sharif
A depiction representing the Prophet's sandal. In Ottoman calligraphy and illumination, it is worked as an expression of love and reverence.
Tulip
The tulip was frequently used in Ottoman art because, written in Arabic letters, it consists of the same letters as the word "Allah."
Waw
One of the letters of the Arabic alphabet. In Sufism it is interpreted as a symbol of unity and of the perfect human; it is among the most beloved letter forms in calligraphy.
Alif
It is the first letter of the Arabic alphabet. With its upright, plain form, it evokes the oneness of Allah and uprightness in Sufi interpretations.
Ism-i A'zam
It means "the most exalted name of Allah." In the tradition of prayer, supplications made with the beautiful names of Allah are known by this name; the product includes 11 names.
Jaljalutiyya
A qasida-prayer attributed to Imam Ali, found in traditional prayer compendiums.
Seal of Solomon
A seal attributed to Prophet Solomon. It has often been used as a decorative motif in Islamic art and handicrafts.
Qitmir
The name traditionally given to the dog in the story of the Companions of the Cave told in Surah Al-Kahf. It is remembered as a symbol of loyalty and devotion.
This product is a piece of jewelry with spiritual and cultural meaning; it is not a protective object. Prayers and symbols are merely a means; only Allah protects and heals.
Natural stone
Red agate.
Agate is a microcrystalline variety of quartz from the chalcedony group. Red-toned agates are also known as carnelian and have been loved as ring stones in Islamic culture for centuries. It is traditionally regarded as a symbol of courage.
In natural stones, color tone, veining and pattern differ from piece to piece; these differences are not flaws but signs of the stone's authenticity. An identical pattern to the one in the photo should not be expected.
